X Factor 2014 finalist Fleur East has admitted how she feared having to get a 'normal job' after her singing career stalled earlier this year.
Fleur, who is favourite to win The X Factor this weekend, has told how she was close to giving up following her music dream at the start of 2014.
"The beginning of this year was my lowest point," she recalled. "I was waking up at whatever time and watching repeats of Friends in my pyjamas all day, every day.
"There was nothing in my diary – no gigs, nothing going on. I was like, 'what am I going to do with my life?' I was so scared. I knew if I got a normal job, I would never sing again."
Fleur explained in a new interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: "There was no motivation in me – there wasn't even any drive to get up in the morning because what's the point? I was definitely depressed. Looking back, I'm like, 'who was that?'
"Sitting on the sofa doing nothing – that's not me at all."
Speaking to the tabloid, Fleur revealed how she has her friends and family to thank for encouraging her to apply for The X Factor.
