Lord Sugar has explained his decision to name Mark Wright the Apprentice 2014 winner.
It was the Australian-born business wannabe who won The Apprentice 2014 tonight, beating Bianca Miller in the final.
TellyMix readers had voted in preference of Bianca's hosiery business but Lord Sugar awarded his £250,000 investment to Mark's digital marketing agency.
Speaking on You're Hired straight after the final tonight, Lord Sugar said of choosing Mark: "I thnk ooking through the course of the whole 12 weeks, he showed me that he had not only this great salesmanship about him, but also a kind of a ruthlessness in his methodology."
The boss continued: "Determination, good sales, and more to the point – here's the big issue here – when I do my speeches to young people, I always say one thing: if you want to go into business on your own, you need to go into a business that you understand, and have some experience in."
Mark also had Lord Sugar's aide Karren Brady championing him, saying: "What you're getting with Mark is an exceptional individual and his USP is himself. I have seen him manage a team really well, he will get the best out of the people that work with him; all he needs to start his business, Alan, is a telephone. He knows his industry inside and out and he won't need a lot of hand holding."
The Apprentice returns for an eleventh series next year on BBC One.
