The X Factor has been accused of using "hypnotic and other techniques" on it's latest run of shows.
TV watchdog Ofcom assessed one complaint from a viewer who had accused the ITV show of potentially hypnotizing its viewers during an episode that had aired in September of last year.
Ofcom's Broadcasting Code state that channels must "exercise a proper degree of responsibility in order to prevent hypnosis and/or adverse reactions in viewers and listeners."
Not too surprisingly Ofcom decided not to investigate the complaint any further.
The X Factor faced in total some 200 complaints according to Ofcom's latest report, none of which the regulator decided to investigate any further after first assessing them.
They included 28 complaints about use of offensive language on the live shows, one complaint regarding nudity and 67 complaints about supposed disability discrimination in one episode.
There were also a total of 15 complaints about references to drugs or alcohol from a live show in November last year and 11 over gender discrimination concerning an episode that had aired in October.
The Xtra Factor almost escaped without a single complaint but it's clean record was lost over a single viewer who accused the show of race discrimination.
Ofcom's latest report also revealed that the latest series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here had 27 complaints about animal cruelty which were also not investigated.
Stats released last year showed that Big Brother was the most complained about show of the previous twelve months.
