Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran are both said to be in talks to appear on The X Factor 2014 final.
With the final set for Wembley Arena later this month plans for the possible finalist duets are already being made.
In recent years the judges have often sung with their acts, but that looks unlikely this year with fewer actual singers on the panel.
The Daily Star on Sunday newspaper reports that Sam and Ed are both in talks with producers to sing with finalists on the final.
The pair have already performed on this year's live results show.
Ed, who previously performed on the live shows earlier this year, has said he's a big fan of Andrea Faustini, who remains in the competition, while Sam appeared on Saturday's show picking a song for the Italian performer.
Speaking last month, semi-finalist Fleur East revealed her hopes for a duet and explained how each of the contestants and told producers who they'd dream to sing alongside.
Fleur said: "If I make the final I'd love to sing with Alicia. We had to submit a list of potential choices and then one hopefully happens."
Last year's X Factor final duets included Ellie Goulding, Shane Filan and then judge Nicole Scherzinger.
The X Factor 2014 continues this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV with the live semi-finals.
