An ill Mel B has thrown The X Factor 2014 final into chaos.
The Spice Girl has come down with an illness just 24 hours ahead of the live show at Wembley Arena.
She was a no-show at rehearsals yesterday and failed to attend a press conference with the other judges and the finalists.
Her act Andrea Faustini was instead flagged by Cheryl, who described the Italian as her "adoptee" act.
Now there are worries that Mel may miss the final, not to mention the impact her absence could have on Andrea's chances.
"Poor Andrea is feeling abandoned. He is already nervous about the final. It is such a massive night, who wouldn't be?" an X Factor insider told the Daily Star newspaper today. "The poor lad is having to fend for himself backstage in the run-up to the biggest night of his life.
"But Mel can't help it. She is so poorly and may have to miss the final altogether."
A spokesperson for The X Factor yesterday said Mel was "unwell" and added that she may have to pull out of the final altogether.
"There's a chance she won't make it, absolutely," they commented.
The Sun newspaper meanwhile reports that a last minute replacement could be drafted in should Mel fail to show.
"This is a real disaster," remarked a rather over dramatic source.
Andrea faces Simon Cowell's Overs acts Fleur East and Ben Haenow in this weekend's final.
