The life of one Hollyoaks resident will be on the line after a dramatic New Year fight, it has been revealed.
Resident Rick Spencer will be left in a bad state after a dramatic hour long episode of the soap on New Years' Eve centering around the Roscoe family.
The drama will come about after his son Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham) discovers that he has been supplying Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox), who he is well known to have feelings for, with pills feeding her painkiller addiction.
With the pills leading to the Chester teacher's addiction spiralling out of control, she desperately steals pills from the Roscoes' bedside cabinet leading to the character collapsing on the folly.
After being discovered by Robbie, a desperate Nancy lies and says that Rick gave her the pills leading to a dramatic confrontation between father and son in the yard. Spotting the confrontation, Robbie's older brother Joe (Ayden Callaghan) immediately jumps to his defence, punching Rick in the face.
However it appears that one punch may have done all the damage as the man collapses lifelessly on the floor leading his family to fear that Joe could have killed him.
The hour-long special will air on New Year's Eve, 31 December from 6.30pm on Channel 4.
Other dramatic storylines due to air over the festive period include Ste and John Paul's Christmas wedding, Sienna holding Dodger and Nico captive and a dramatic Christmas for Sinead and Tony.
