X Factor's Cheryl is reportedly worried that she faces the axe with Tulisa tipped to replace her.
Girls Aloud singer Cheryl made a comeback to the series last year but ratings for the latest run were some of the lowest ever.
An insider said this week: "Simon thought Cheryl coming back would make a bigger splash than it has."
Now there's rumours that former judge Tulisa could return to replace Cheryl on the panel following a guest appearance in last year's live final.
It was reported at the weekend that Tulisa was "desperate" to get her old job back and was currently wooing Simon as the pair holiday together in Barbados.
According to The Daily Star on Sunday newspaper, Tulisa has been trying to persuade the X Factor boss and the show's top producer Richard Holloway to sign her up for what will be the twelfth series later this year.
A source told the tabloid at the weekend: "Simon invited Tulisa to fly out and spend time with him on Barbados for New Year so it was a no-brainer for her.
"She knows she is in the running for a potential X Factor comeback and wants to do everything she can to make it happen."
According to new!, it's "likely" that Tulisa will be back this year.
An insider told the magazine this week: "Simon sees potential in Tulisa.
"He thinks she was great on the show recently. It's likely she'll return full-time in 2015.
