The Voice UK contestant Sasha Simone has confessed she only found out who Sir Tom Jones was when preparing for her audition.
The talented hopeful joined Sir Tom's team at the weekend after both he and Ricky Wilson turned around for the 25-year-old.
Sasha said that saying no to Ricky "felt like I was breaking up with him."
She explained: "My head was like: 'No. Pick Tom!'."
But Sasha – who is currently training to be a bricklayer – admitted she had to use YouTube to learn who the legendary singer was.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I just thought: 'Wow. That's the kind of guy I want to have conversations with.'"
It turns out that Sasha's audition for The Voice UK actually came as a surprise with her family having applied on her behalf.
"They sat me down and said 'We've done something and we think it will be good for you'," she told the Birmingham Mail. "They came with me because I was so nervous throughout all the auditions.
"For the blind audition in front of the judges, I was so scared I don't know how I managed to even walk out on stage."
Sasha recalled: "The silence was terrifying and made me want to turn back round. I think I cried all the way through – it's all big blur.
"I had no confidence and I really didn't expect anyone to turn their chairs round."
The Voice UK continues with more blind auditions on BBC One this Saturday night.
