Ryan Green returns to The Voice UK this weekend after being turned away from the competition lat year.
Then aged sixteen, Ryan had told cameras how how he had chosen to focus on a career in music over football.
However none of the four judges turned for his cover of Wretch 32's Don't Go.
Will.i.am however admitted he made a mistake by not pressing his button after realising that Ryan had been playing the piano backing to his track himself.
"There's a reason why I didn't turn," the Black Eyed Peas star said last year. "I didn't know you were playing the piano, but now I feel like an idiot
"You play the piano and you sing, and you're 16? We all made a mistake."
Kylie Minogue said at the time: "I'm really mad at myself."
This weekend will see Ryan return to sing again for the judges, with the panel this year featuring Rita Ora alongside Will, Sir Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson.
But with the blind auditions seeing the contestants singing to the backs of the coaches, none of them will know that this is Ryan's second shot.
The Voice UK returns with Series Four this Saturday night at 7PM on BBC One.
