The Voice UK's Rita Ora has said she had to 'find her balls' in order to join the series.
The new coach has replaced Kylie Minogue on the BBC One show which begins this Saturday night on BBC One.
And speaking ahead of the Series Four premiere, Rita revealed how she decided to 'find her balls' and "go for it" when first asked to take part.
"I didn't know if I wanted to take that pressure on and be responsible [for other people's careers]. But then I found my balls and I said to myself, 'I'm going to go for it.'" Rita recalled.
The singer was also being wooed by Simon Cowell to join The X Factor but Rita said this week that she chose to join The Voice for the "freedom" it gave her.
But regardless of the rivalry between the two shows, having to deal with the very vocal public is common to both of them and Rita is prepared.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper this week: "Joining this TV show, I've got to come to the reality that I'm going to be an open book for the public, opinions are going to come out of everywhere – they already have been, but this time will be ten times more intense.
"People only see pictures of me, my music videos and a few interviews. I can only be myself and if I was to be somebody else it would come out that I was lying because you can't do that for eight hours straight while filming. It's hard for me to hide how I feel."
Rita added: "I'm ready for the ups and downs, for me there's only ups – the show's out now and I can't do anything about it. I'm happy I made this choice."
The Voice UK begins Saturday night at 7PM on BBC One.
