Will.i.am has confessed that he would never audition for The Voice UK.

Admitting that the format had its significant disadvantages, Will conceded that you can't always just someone on their Voice alone.

And the Black Eyed Peas frontman claimed he was one such example.

"It's not the kind of artist I am," he said of ever auditioning for the series when he was starting out. "You can't judge me on my vocals, you judge me on my mind and ideas."

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper at the weekend, Will also admitted that he found saying no to contestants the toughest bit of the show.

He said: "I know what it feels like to be rejected and I don't want to be the door slammer. I've been on the show four years, but I never get used to it.

"When someone doesn't believe in your idea, or your face, it hurts."

But at the weekend Will was on hand with some of his infamous advice for those who don't make it.

"They say when one door closes, another two open… nah. When one door opens, there's a key outside to a bulldozer in the car park to break the door the down," he said.

The Voice continues next weekend on BBC One.
