Emilie Cunliffe has admitted her audition on The Voice UK was one of her 'worst ever performances'.
The 17-year-old daughter of Kym Marsh appeared on the show at the weekend where she had sung Clarity by Zedd for the judges.
Filmed last year when she was 16, Emilie's audition saw none of the four coaches turn around resulting in her bowing out of the competition at the first stage.
Emilie has confessed that nerves got the better of her and she didn't do anywhere near as well with the song as she hoped.
"It was really special having Mum, Dad, Dan (Hooper, Kym's fiance), my brother David and my friends there but I was dead nervous before the audition," the teenager said this week. "While I was waiting to audition I was pacing and my teeth were chattering. When I walked on stage my heart was beating so fast I could feel it in my chest."
Speaking to The Sun newspaper after the show aired on Saturday night, Emilie went on: "It was probably one of the worst performances I've done. I didn't expect anyone to turn around for me. But when no one did I was devastated and I cried."
The young budding performer said that the rejection will only help "make me stronger" as she also insisted that her mum was not pushing her into the spotlight.
"This has nothing to do with Mum – it's me and this is what I want to do," she said.
Emilie added: "The Voice isn't the last thing I'm going to do – it's just the beginning. I've got so much determination because I want this so badly."
The Voice UK continues this weekend on BBC One.
