Coronation Street have announced plans to recast the role of Bethany Platt after it was revealed that the actress cast was 25 years old!
Actress Katie Redford has been dropped from the part before getting the chance to film her first scenes after speculation that the actress is actually 25, despite the press release stating that she was 19.
A show spokesperson stated: "Coronation Street have taken the decision to recast the part of Bethany Platt."
The actress was announced on Friday as playing Bethany, the daughter of Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O'Brien), who will return to the show as a regular character in the spring.
A recast is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
