Katie Hopkins previously suggested that Celebrity Big Brother was "career suicide".

The rent-a-gob also admitted that "every man has his price" in an attack against the Channel 5 series that she is now starring in.

She had written in a column in 2013: "On January 3 the latest line-up of celebrities – or z-listers as we are more fondly known – are going to flounce into the house and fight like hell."

"Many people call it career suicide, but every man has his price."

And in Katie's case the price was reportedly more than £400,000, with the outspoken TV personality this year's highest paid star.

In fact, her rumoured fee makes her one of the highest paid celebrity housemates ever.

Speaking before going into the house, Katie claimed she'd make sure that the series didn't experience the same problems that she found with watching past shows.

"There will be no lust in the house while I am there," she said last night. "I will throw vinegar over people's testicles or salt into openings.

"They know the cameras are there and if that is the best you've got to keep yourself on a TV programme then your armoury is pretty lacking."
