The fate of The Only Way Is Essex reportedly hands in the balance after a number of prominent stars quit.
Many of the original faces of the ITV series have already left but now the show has been hit by more departures.
One of the few remaining faces from the first ever episodes James 'Arg' Argent has been suspended, while more popular cast members have shunned filming in order to focus on their private lives and day jobs.
According to Star magazine, the series has been left 'in turmoil' following its recent move to new digital reality channel ITVBe.
An insider told the publication this month: "The show is falling apart behind the scenes.
"Producers realise it's losing its edge, an with so many key cast members absent, it's really suffering."
TOWIE aired a Christmas special last weekend and a new series is planned for early 2015, although long term the future of the show doesn't look great..
"Although several new characters were introduced in the last series, producers know it takes time for viewers to get to know them," the insider added. "They fear fans will lose interested."
