Mrs Brown's Boys topped last night's Christmas Day ratings while Eastenders was the most watched soap as the BBC trounced ITV.
7.6 million viewers watched the Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas special from 10PM, making it the most watched show of the day.
Eastenders was next with 7.5 million watching its special, easily winning the battle of the soaps.
On ITV, Coronation Street managed 6.8 million while Emmerdale had 5.7 million earlier on in the evening.
Overall it was a confident victory for BBC for another year running.
The Stricty Come Dancing Christmas special 2014 was watched by just under 7 million viewers, Call The Midwife interested 6.8 million while Doctor Who posted a 6.3 million viewer rating.
By comparison, Downton Abbey was ITV's most watched show outside of the soaps with 5.8 million.
Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs at Christmas managed just over 3 million viewers.
On the other channels and BBC Two's top programme of the night was Morecambe and Wise in Pieces with 2 million whereas 1.6 million watched festive film Arthur Christmas on Channel 4.
Channel 5 attracted an average audience of 1.3 million for its film showing, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, just ahead of BBC Three's million viewer showing of Shrek Forever After.
