There were rows on I'm A Celebrity 2014 tonight as the contestants got involved in a battle of the sexes.
It began as Edwina announced that the day's Trial would be called Boulder Dash and that Camp would have to choose one celebrity to do it.
She suggested that the Trial sounded physical and Mel said she'd be up for it. Vicki said that she thought Jake or Foggy would be best. Kendra also offered herself up.
However the discussion took a turn as Mel said "Hang on, me and Kendra said we wouldn't mind."
"Bearing in mind we want to eat tonight . . ." observed Edwina.
"Yeah I know. Are you saying we wouldn't be able to do it" countered Mel. "You should believe in the sisterhood. You're a strong woman."
"I don't believe in that, I believe in us all together" replied Edwina. "Well I would vote for Foggy because he wants it and he'll be good at it."
Kendra also said that she'd vote for him because he offered first. And Mel concurred that she would too. "I'm just saying I'm not going to sit here and say I don't want to do it because that would be a lie."
Later in the Bush Telegraph, Mel said "God what is that about. I'm really shocked in Edwina for that. She is such a strong female role model yet in her case she doesn't believe in that."
Mel said "Foggy's doing it and whatever it is I'm sure he's going to conquer it 100%."
Foggy chosen, the conversation continued.
Michael commented "Mel sees herself as indeed we see her as an Amazonion warrior and she felt this was insufficiently supportive of the sisterhood."
Back in camp, Edwina said "When I was a kid, the sisterhood wanted me to stay home, get married and have kids."
"It's changed now though" said Mel "Because when we were chopping food the other day, you said we need a man to do this. I can't believe you would say those words. Why would we need a man to chop food? We don't need a man for anything apart from sex."
Edwina disagreed. "We actually do" she said. Mel denied this.
Later Edwina said "she said we don't need a man for anything, only for sex. Well actually men are people and we all need people."
"I'm self sufficient" said Mel.
"No you're not. Nobody is" countered Edwina.
"I am self sufficient. You don't know my life" Mel continued. "I've got all my mates and all my family and all my friends. I don't need any man to help me in my life. It would be nice but if he's not there it doesn't stall me is what I'm saying."
Later Vicki commented "I think Mel's had to put up with a lot of crap recently. She's had to be by herself, look after her kids, so I think that might be a little bit of a sore spot there."
And tearfully Edwina said in the Bush Telegraph "Whole people need other whole people and it could be you're a man and you see the woman of your dreams or it could be you're a woman that's missing her man."
