Watch I'm A Celebrity 2014 contestants' camp invaded by huge huntsman spiders

The I'm A Celebrity 2014 contestants have a special guest in camp this week.

Ahead of the first elimination, it's not the public vote that the stars have to worry abut.

Instead, huge huntsman spiders have invaded Croc Creek and are not only leaving the celebs running for the hills.

Even the show's crew have been left terrified by the creepy crawlies, which have been spotted emerging from computers and sneaking over keyboards.

Adult males of the species can grow up to 30 centimeters in length and are so big, some call them 'Crab spiders'.

Meanwhile, it's not just the spiders that are causing problems Down Under with power problems causing blackouts backstage overnight.

Staff had to make do with head torches to keep an eye on the celebs – and a watch out for more jungle nasties.

An ITV spokesman said: "We have contingency plans for every eventuality."

Tonight, Tichy Stryder, Mel Sykes, Jimmy Bullard and Carl Fogarty will face the first elimination of the series.

Lines opened yesterday for viewers to vote for their favourite and the one with the fewest public votes will get the axe in this evening's live show.

I'm A Celebrity 2014 airs at the slightly earlier time of 8:30PM tonight on ITV, hosted by Ant and Dec.
